Composite Parts for Commercial Applications
Our process technologies have served a wide range of commercial industries. Throughout the years, we have developed advanced composite parts for applications in motorsports, transportation, health care and sporting goods, to name a few.

United States Formula 1 Team
Working with the U.S. Formula 1 team, we developed carbon fiber components for their new race car. The parts included the front mainplane, front and rear wing components, suspension arms and pushrods, and the steering wheel. We engineered each part as a single-piece, hollow-cavity part using lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) and out-of-autoclave curing. The front mainplane is an especially complex integrated structure with multiple hollow cavities, internal aluminum mount points and carbon fiber stiffening ribs. Like the other components, the mainplane was produced in one shot.

Composite Intake Manifold
Honda
The intake manifold is a hollow-cavity structure with numerous nonsymmetric geometries, fully integrated aluminum flanges and other complex details. Using conventional means to economically fabricate this assembly would be difficult, especially to the required tolerances of carbon fiber. However, we were able to create the part in one shot using our proprietary lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) process. The finished product was a single-piece, integrated structure produced by out-of-autoclave manufacturing and conventional matched-die RTM. Our intake manifold offered substantial horsepower and torque improvements over leading competitors.
