Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. has collaborated with our customer to produce 14 foot long carbon fiber ruddervator tail spars for a developmental UAV application. This complex part is a single-piece, hollow-cavity, integrated structure produced using Fiber Dynamics's proprietary lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) material and processes. The tail spars are produced in a "One-Shot", out-of-autoclave, matched-die resin transfer molding (RTM) process.

Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. has designed and patented Sinecore™ a unique composite sandwich structure that exhibits significant advantages over many conventional honeycomb and foam cored material structures. Sinecore is under development by Fiber Dynamics and has yet to be commercialized. Once fully developed, Sinecore Sandwich Structures could offer; significant weight reduction, improved mechanical properties, low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), venting to prevent trapped moisture and pressurized gas, energy absorption and acoustical damping properties when compared to other materials. Sinecore Sandwich Structures are produced using Fiber Dynamics's proprietary lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) material and processes.

Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. collaborated with the USF1 race team to develop and produce carbon fiber components for a new Formula 1 race car. Parts included; front and rear wing components, suspension arms and pushrods and steering wheel. All were single-piece, complex hollow-cavity components produced out-of-autoclave using Fiber Dynamic's proprietary lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) material and processes. The USF1 front mainplane is a complex integrated structure featuring multiple hollow-cavities and internal aluminum mount points and carbon fiber stiffening ribs. The front mainplane and other USF1 components were produced using our "One-Shot" fabrication process.

Fairings are produced using out-of-autoclave, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), conventional matched-die resin transfer molding (RTM), and CNC trimming processes.

Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. designed, developed, and produced this high performance intake manifold for Honda automobile applications. Fiber Dynamics marketed this product under its own brand - Advanced Induction Research™ (AIR™). This complex hollow-cavity, integrated structure features numerous non-symmetrical geometries and fully integrated aluminum flanges and details. Economically fabricating an assembly such as this to the required tolerances in carbon fiber, using conventional fabrication materials and methods would be very difficult. However, Fiber Dynamics was able to produce the product using its proprietary lost core resin transfer molding (LCRTM) material and processes. The finished product is a single-piece, integrated structure produced in a "One-Shot", out-of-autoclave, conventional matched-die resin transfer molding (RTM) process. This Fiber Dynamics developed manifold offered substantial horsepower and torque improvements over leading competitors.

Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. produces carbon fiber strakes for Cessna Citation business jets. These external components mount beneath the tail of the aircraft. Each strake is produced out-of-autoclave using conventional matched-die resin transfer molding (RTM) and CNC drilling and trimming processes.

Project Description:

Fiber Dynamics, Inc. has collaborated with our customer to develop and produce over 30 unique parts for a brand new, ground-breaking Formula 2000 race car chassis. The parts include; wings (forward and rear), diffusers, under trays, side pods, cockpit panels, cowlings, nose and tailcone assemblies and other related components. The parts are produced using out-of-autoclave, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) and conventional matched-die resin transfer molding (RTM) processes.
